In this second talk, we examine Luther's idea that salvation is by "faith alone" --- a truth he was so convinced of that he was willing to toss the Epistle of St James out of Bible because he thought it contradicted it. We explore the relationship of faith to obedience throughout the Old and New Testaments and ask the crucial question: What did St. Paul really mean when he said we are justified by "faith" and not by "works or the law"?
